autosquash has been removed

autosquash was deprecated on 2026-01-27 and stopped doing anything on 2026-09-09: since then the merge queue no longer squashes squash!/fixup!/amend! commits when updating a pull request in place, and neither does the rebase action.

The option itself is now removed from queue rule and rebase action configuration. Any configuration that still sets autosquash — in a queue rule, in defaults, or on the rebase action — will fail validation instead of the key being silently accepted and ignored. Remove it from your Mergify configuration to keep Mergify running on the repository.
